Simonetta Talami lives between the sea and the mountains, dividing her time between Liguria and the Apennines. Having always been passionate about horses, she joined the studio of the master Adriano De Laurentis at the age of just nine. She continued her artistic training, first attending the Art Institute and then the Accademia Ligustica di Belle Arti in Genoa.

She began her professional career in the field of non-fiction illustration, collaborating with the Armenia Group, Mondadori and the advertising sector. She was selected twice, in 1995 and 2000, for the Illustrators’ Exhibition at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, in the non-fiction section.

In the artistic sphere, she has produced a number of oil paintings for the residence of an African president. She has also worked in the fields of photography, graphic design and corporate branding.

In 2025, she published the picture book Animali with Sabir Editore, written by Walter Obert, winner of the Demetra Prize for environmental literature.

In the same year, she was one of the founders of Loft61, a centre for the promotion of the arts in Sestri Levante (GE).
